Problem of the Great Wall protection

Chinanews, Guangzhou, Jul. 21 – According to a latest survey, the Great Wall protection currently is faced with many problems, one of them being lack of funds to protect the sections of the Great Wall in remote areas.
Yu Chunrong, the director of the Great Wall Protection Institute of Jiayuguan Pass, revealed on Thursday that the section of the Great Wall in Jiayuguan was well-protected. Since the 1980s, this section has been renovated several times, and a series of measures have been taken to keep it under good maintenance.
But Yu also admitted that some sections of the Great Wall in the Lanzhouarea had become dilapidated, and officials from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage are investigating the current condition of the Great Wall.
Yu said that the central government had only put in a limited amount of money on protection of key sections of the Great Wall, so there were still sections of the Great Wall in the remote areas deteriorating everyday without getting any protection.
