July 28 - Despite a totally defensive formation, Guangzhou Yiyao, a Chinese second division football side, conceded a 3-0 defeat to a relaxing Manchester United.
Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo started for the Red Devils in the game, the last of their warm-up series in east Asia, but was replaced in the 61st minute for injury.
The Premier League champions found it hard to tune up for the match in front of their conservative counterparts who put seven defenders on the pitch.
Dong, whose talent was restrained at right wing in the national team matches, displayed his great potential as a striker, his header in the 14th minute sneaking just wide of the post.
Wayne Rooney converted a penalty in the 18th minute, handing the visitors a 1-0 lead. And Nani, who had just transferred to the team from Sporting Lisbon of Portugal, widened the gap to 2-0 before the break, driving an overhead shot deflected into the net by the post.
Man Utd notched up an overwhelming 3-0 lead minutes into the second half as Lee Martin, a reserve, produced a 30 meter long shot surely saveable by few keepers in the world.
